This policy describes what Anaximander Group Ltd does with personal data collected through this website. It describes this website only. Products the company operates have their own privacy notices, published on those products.
Who is responsible
Anaximander Group Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17294798, registered office 20 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU, United Kingdom, is the controller for the personal data described here.
Data protection enquiries: privacy@anaximander.com.
What this website collects
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind. There is no third-party tag on it, no advertising pixel, and no profiling. Fonts and every other asset are served from this domain, so loading a page here does not make a request to any other company.
We collect personal data in exactly one place: the contact form.
Contact form
When you submit an enquiry we record:
- the name you give us;
- the email address you give us;
- the organisation you give us, if you choose to give one;
- the type of enquiry you select, and the message you write;
- the date and time of the submission;
- a shortened form of your network address, and your browser’s user-agent string.
The network address is truncated before it is stored. For an IPv4 address the final part is removed and replaced with a zero; for an IPv6 address only the routing prefix is kept. We do not store a complete address. The truncated value exists so we can identify repeated automated abuse of the form, and for no other purpose.
Server logs
Our web server records the ordinary information needed to operate and secure the site. These records are kept for a short operational period and are not used to build a profile of any visitor.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To answer your enquiry. Our legitimate interest in responding to someone who has contacted us about our business, and where relevant taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
- To keep the form usable. Our legitimate interest in preventing automated abuse of a public form, which is why the truncated address is retained.
- To meet legal obligations. Where we are required to retain correspondence, for example in relation to a complaint or a regulatory matter.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. Enquiries are handled by our own staff. Where an enquiry is delivered to a company mailbox, that mail is handled by our email provider acting on our instructions under a written agreement. Enquiries may be disclosed to our professional advisers, or to a regulator or law enforcement, where we are legally required to do so.
Where it is held
Enquiry records are held on servers operated by the company within the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where any transfer outside the UK is necessary it is made under an approved transfer mechanism.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a relationship: deleted within 24 months of the last correspondence.
- Enquiries that lead to a commercial relationship: retained for the life of that relationship and for six years afterwards, to meet our accounting and limitation obligations.
- Truncated network address and user agent: deleted within 12 months.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask us to delete it, to ask us to restrict how we use it, to object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, write to privacy@anaximander.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. Material changes will be described on this page.
